Questions

What is a brake caliper service?

Over time, the grease in your brakes washes out and the parts corrode and seize, especially with road salt. A caliper service cleans and re-lubricates them. Doing it once a year can greatly extend the life of your brakes.

How do I know when I need new brakes?

Most brake pads have a small metal tab that squeals when they're getting thin. Grinding usually means the pads are worn through and metal is touching the rotor, so book right away: that damages the rotors quickly.

Why does the pedal pulse when I brake?

Usually because the rotors have worn unevenly. They are often replaced along with the pads.
